TypeSafe raises $870M at a $7.5B valuation, weeks after launching its Jev model
Sources agree on the amount and the lead investor. The $7.5 billion valuation is reported rather than confirmed, and the speed and adoption figures are company claims.

TypeSafe AI, developer of the Jev model, has raised $870 million at a $7.5 billion valuation, according to TechCrunch. SiliconANGLE said the company announced the funding. Crunchbase, citing a Bloomberg report, said Andreessen Horowitz was the largest investor in the round.
According to TechCrunch, the round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Sequoia and existing investor DCVC. SiliconANGLE listed Andreessen Horowitz as the lead, with Sequoia Capital, DCVC and unnamed angel investors contributing. Crunchbase described the $7.5 billion valuation as reported rather than confirmed.
TechCrunch reported that Jev was released on September 15. According to TechCrunch, Jev is not a large language model, and it produces probabilities that the company calls calibrated decisions. SiliconANGLE said Jev supports three request types: yes-or-no answers, choosing from a list, and generating a score.
The company claims Jev processes requests in under 700 milliseconds, up to 200 times faster than some frontier LLMs and up to 100 times more cost-efficient. TypeSafe claims that a third of Fortune 500 companies are already using Jev, according to TechCrunch.
Crunchbase included the round in its tally of the largest announced rounds raised by U.S.-based companies for October 3 to 9.
